How many of you have heard of the Everglades?
Well, if you haven't, I thought what a perfect venue to share my love for this pristine wild place. I'm sure you've all heard of other more popular National Parks, but somehow this paradise has existed somewhat under the radar. It's located in South Florida and it's very vulnerable to suburban sprawl. The simplistic beauty seems to be only appreciated by foreigners, that would like to catch a glimpse of a gator, or an array birds. Here are some pics of my trip to this enchanting place this past winter.
Very nice, Bernie. I like the author Piers Anthony, who lives in the Tampa area. He has a series of novels just full of puns. The Everglades for him means that if you get caught there, you stay there, forever and ever and ever.
ReplyDeleteIf you're ever in Miami, you should visit the Anhinga Trail and then go to Shark Valley and take a tram. If you feel energetic and you go between the winter months and late spring you'll see a great show. If you go in March or April the gators are mating and babies being born. I love it.
